About The Position

As a Chemical Manufacturing Engineer, you will work with production planning and operations to ensure the safe manufacture of nuclear fuel for power plants. Analyze existing processes and identify value-added and non-value-added activities to solve design challenges. Evaluate our processes, equipment, and materials as an input for scheduling methods, performance metrics, and financial standards. Uphold our reputation by delivering solutions while following commitments made to government regulators. You will report to the Chemical Engineering Manager and be located at our Columbia location. You will support this role 100% onsite.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering
  • 0+ years of experience
  • Experience to support manufacturing and production processes and equipment

Responsibilities

  • Establish and update the key Process Safety Information (PSI) for the Process Safety Management (PSM) covered processes and department operations including the design basis documents (Process Design Basis (PDB), Controls Requirement Document (CRD), and Piping and Instrument Diagrams (P&IDs))
  • Developing Equipment and Instrument Specifications, reviewing and developing improved Preventative Maintenance procedures and templates, scanning and entering information in Leading 2 Lead database
  • Approve production operating procedures, Job Safety Analysis, work standards, maintenance of equipment procedures, Preventative Maintenance (PM) procedures and PM frequencies
  • Support department activities to design new products, modify existing designs, improve production techniques, and develop test procedures for manufacturing operations ensuring the Change Control Process (CCP) is being followed
  • Support the development, contribution to, and maintenance of electronic database/library containing historical and current technical articles, experimental studies and reports associated with the production/metallurgy of zirconium or zirconium-related subjects/processes
