About The Position

The Chemical Laboratory Technician is responsible for performing all lab analyses using various equipment such as burettes, pipettes, pH/ion meters, atomic absorption spectrophotometer, laboratory balance, hydrometers, hull cells, and CVS. This role involves performing all lab analyses and special tests for reporting to Plating Managers and Process Engineers. The technician will be exposed to hazardous waste and will receive comprehensive training on chemical handling and hazardous waste management. Additionally, the technician in the Microsection area is responsible for analyzing cross-section specimens to determine the reliability status of production F/A.

Requirements

  • Ability to read, write and communicate in English to the degree necessary to perform the job
  • Excellent knowledge of process chemistry
  • Excellent attention to details
  • Able to lift 50 pounds
  • Two years’ experience in the Wet Process department or related chemical environment
  • Must comply with TTM Export Control Policies and Procedures and all applicable laws including ITAR, EAR and OFAC

Responsibilities

  • Perform all lab analysis and special tests of chemicals used in the wet process areas
  • Accurately report chemical analysis and tests to Plating Managers and Process Engineers
  • Make all chemical additions and bath make-ups
  • Complete all internal departmental documentation accurately
  • Keep accurate up to date records regarding current baths on production floor
  • Troubleshoot and perform maintenance on most lab equipment, chemical controllers, pumps, and other lab related equipment
  • Interacts with vendors and visitors
  • Perform lab inventory and identify chemicals and equipment needed to order
  • Assists in writing departmental instructions and procedures
  • Ability to effectively run all equipment in department
  • Follow all safety measures when handling chemicals and hazardous waste with regard to use, mixing and disposing chemicals
  • Maintains a safe, neat and orderly work place
  • Use all required Personal Protective Equipment
  • Complete all internal departmental documentation accurately
  • Evaluate cross section samples in accordance with customer requirements
  • Prep micro section sample coupons including: cutting, mounting, grinding, polishing, specimens evaluation under the scope and generate lab report
  • Must meet all department quality and throughput requirements as well as follow all company policies and procedures
