About The Position

Schutz Container System, a Global Packaging Container Company located in Kenosha, Wisconsin, is looking for a Chemical Engineer - Waste Water Manager. This role involves strong knowledge of SDS sheets for risk assessments, chemical classifications, and waste determinations. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of RCRA and EPA regulations, as well as experience with chemical neutralization and differentiating between acids and bases. Responsibilities include classifying incoming fill goods, neutralizing corrosive residues in Elementary Neutralization Units, and managing all waste streams produced at the facility for proper disposal. This is a hands-on role with approximately 50% of the time spent in the office and 50% monitoring the reconditioning process and waste streams.

Requirements

  • 4 year Chemical Degree
  • 3-5 year Manufacturing Experience
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Computer knowledge of MS Windows and SAP

Nice To Haves

  • Strong knowledge and understanding of SDS sheets to make risk assessments, chemical classifications and waste determinations
  • Knowledge and understanding of RCRA and EPA regulations and rules
  • Experience and strong knowledge in chemical neutralization and understanding the difference between an Acid and a base.

Responsibilities

  • Make risk assessments, chemical classifications, and waste determinations using SDS sheets.
  • Classify all incoming fill goods as needed.
  • Neutralize corrosive residues in Elementary Neutralization Units.
