In this role, you will support safe, efficient, and consistent daily polymer manufacturing operations. You will assist with scaling up formulations and optimizing production for quality and throughput. You will participate in troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and corrective actions. You will analyze data to identify trends and drive continuous process improvements. You will maintain and update PSM documentation, including P&IDs, PHAs, and SOPs. You will participate in safety audits, risk assessments, and PSM compliance activities. You will partner with EHS and maintenance on safety systems and mechanical integrity programs. You will collaborate with R&D, Quality, and Operations on new products and process enhancements. You will lead or support special projects such as raw material trials and energy initiatives. You will ensure accurate documentation and reporting of production and process data. You will perform assigned tasks in conformance with procedures and instructions established in the Business Management System (BMS) and in compliance with applicable Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) regulatory requirements. You will perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering (preferred) or in Mechanical Engineering/Materials Science
  • 1+ years of industry experience and/or a combination of prior internship in the chemical industry, preferred
  • Strong problem-solving, data analysis, and process optimization skills.
  • Familiarity with or ability to learn SPC concepts and apply to process control.
  • Understanding of or ability to learn chemical processes and perform relevant calculations and equipment analyses.
  • Basic knowledge of safety practices and compliance with OSHA/EH&S standards.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and ability to learn systems such as DELTA V, SCADA, and PLC/HMI interfaces.
  • Ability to lift up to 55 lbs. independently; and up to 100 lbs. with assistance.
  • Able to stand for extended periods of time.
