This position will be scheduled to work Monday – Friday, 7AM - 3:30PM. I. Position Overview: The position is responsible for managing and dispensing chemicals and materials used in the formulation process of sterile batches. This individual will weigh, dispense, and issue raw materials in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOPs), thoroughly documenting work activities. The Chemical Dispensary Technician is responsible for chemical storage in Stockroom and Stockroom inventory management.

Requirements

  • High school Diploma or GED.
  • 2 years’ experience working in cGMP environment, preferably pharmaceutical dispensing and staging or Formulation
  • Well organized and detail oriented.
  • Must be computer literate with MS Office, spreadsheets and ERP & PSR systems (JDE preferred).
  • Works well in a self-directed work team.
  • Possess and demonstrate excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communications skills.
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Works well under pressure with limited supervision and able to prioritize workloads and meet deadlines.
  • Must be able to interact effectively with a variety of individuals and personalities within and between departments.
  • Knowledge and experience in cGMPs desirable.
  • Advanced mathematical and reasoning ability.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Should be familiar with cGMP and safe work practices.
  • Excellent Documentation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to read, write, and speak clear English.
  • Visual Acuity (20/30 corrected vision)
  • Ability to don and doff Personal Protective Equipment necessary to safely perform job tasks.
  • Frequent sitting, standing, walking, reading of written documents and use of computer monitor screen, reaching with hands and arms, handling, grasping,
  • Occasional climbing ladders/steps, walking up inclines and uneven terrain, stooping, kneeling, crouching, writing, talking, bending, turning, balancing, carrying, listening
  • Frequent lifting and/or moving up to 20 pounds and occasional lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds

  • Preferred Associate degree in Chemistry or some Chemistry background

Responsibilities

  • Identify and pull chemicals from inventory recording transactions in JDE.
  • Investigate variances involving the chemical weigh out area.
  • Monitor chemical inventory levels – cycle count chemicals and filters and monitor expiration dates of all chemicals and filters.
  • Ensures that the Stockroom is kept in a neat and clean condition.
  • Maintain good housekeeping and safety practices while performing duties.
  • Follow proper sterile gowning techniques.
  • Weigh out and dispense chemicals required for the formulation process
  • Perform cleaning, autoclaving, and passivation of dispensing equipment/containers as necessary
  • Adhere to all procedures including current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), Good Documentation Practices (GDP) and storage requirements of individual chemicals
  • Development, creation, and updating of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) impacting the stockroom
  • Responsible for audit activities impacting the stockroom, including any follow-up items.
  • Ensures that all equipment in Stockroom and Dispensing areas are in good repair and takes action when repair or maintenance is required.
  • Acts as a Subject Matter Expert for Chemical Stock Room and Chemical Dispensing Operations and represent these areas during internal and External audits.
  • Trains employees when required.
  • Maintain effectiveness of the Quality System components relevant to this position.
  • Identify, evaluate, and manage risk to ensure product quality. Communicate risk policies and processes throughout the organization.
