About The Position

This full-time position functions as a clinician in the counseling of patients by conducting evening therapy sessions and developing treatment plans. The role involves obtaining authorizations from managed care organizations to assure reimbursement, coordinating and/or implementing operational policies and procedures, and representing the program to managed care companies and organizations. The therapist will also establish external contacts where chemical dependency health education services are needed, identify, investigate, and resolve client-related problems, and maintain high clinical quality and outcomes of the program. Participation in departmental teaching and research activities is also expected.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Psychology, Social Work, or a related field of study
  • Four years' experience in clinical substance abuse counseling and education required.
  • Certified in counseling substance abuse patients (Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist, Licensed Professional Counselor, or Licensed Clinical Social Worker).
