About The Position

This position is Friday 7am-9pm, Saturday 7am-8pm, Sunday 7am-8pm and works in person at a location in South Point, Ohio. Exact location will be given upon hire to protect client confidentiality. The basic function is to identify and address client/family needs and concerns who are dependent upon alcohol/drugs; provide assessment, crisis intervention and other services to assist client/family in the treatment process.

Requirements

CDCA certification
CPR and First Aid certification
Ohio Medicaid billing number

Responsibilities

Assigning each client a specialized schedule of group and individual counseling.
Create goals, both treatment and personal, for clients to achieve.
Address areas of concern and how to improve it.
Assessing the level of treatment needed.
Gathering information used to make the treatment plan.
Determining the best course of action to treat the client.
With the client, signing release of information, permission to treat, permission to bill and emergency contact papers.
Intervening when client is in crisis.
Attempt to calm and redirect client in crisis.
Refer client to Detox center or residential treatment if needed.
Set up transportation for appointments.
Make referrals to qualified doctors.
Schedule appointments.
Inform client of community resources.
Transportation.
Allows client to discuss issues they aren’t ready to talk about in a group.
Set goals and work towards them.
Help client work through personal barriers.
Assist the client in identifying aspects of their lives they want to change.
Allows client to work on and discuss his/her 12-step homework.
Counseling more than one client at a time.
Discuss topics and barriers that affect all addicts.
Encourage clients to identify feelings and understand why they feel that way.
CDCA may be required to participate in marketing of business outside of the office location and outside of normal office hours.
