About The Position

Landmark Aquatic is seeking a Bulk Chemical Delivery Driver to join their service team. This role involves local delivery of bulk chemicals to commercial swimming pool customers using a 26-foot box truck with a liftgate. When not driving, the driver will assist in the service department with pool service and renovation projects. The position offers variety in routes and the opportunity to stay local. Responsibilities include placing orders with suppliers, picking orders, verifying loads, assisting with route planning, loading/unloading cargo, performing pre-trip inspections, arranging maintenance, and maintaining vehicle cleanliness. Compliance with all safe work practices and procedures is mandatory.

Requirements

  • CDL-Class A, B or C with Hazmat endorsement is required
  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • At least 6 months prior experience driving a 10-speed manual truck required
  • Clean driving record. No speeding tickets, DWI, DUI or any other traffic related incidents in the last 7 years
  • Must be able to pass a pre-hire DOT drug test and random DOT drug tests.
  • Able to lift over 50lbs
  • Knowledge of applicable traffic laws and DOT regulations is required.
  • Must be able to operate a pallet jack and lift gate.
  • Ability to utilize technology like tablets, smartphones, and cloud-based apps
  • Must be able to work in and out of heat, cold and all types of weather conditions.
  • Meet the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) physical qualification standards under 49 CFR Part 391.41.
  • Distant visual acuity of at least 20/40 in each eye, with or without corrective lenses.
  • Horizontal field of vision of at least 70 degrees in each eye.
  • Ability to distinguish traffic signal colors.
  • Adequate depth perception.
  • Ability to hear a forced whisper from at least 5 feet away, with or without a hearing aid, in at least one ear.
  • Maintain blood pressure below 140/90 mmHg at the time of the DOT physical exam.
  • No current diagnosis of cardiovascular disease that impairs the ability to drive or respond to physical exertion unless cleared by a medical examiner.
  • No respiratory conditions that cause shortness of breath or fatigue during physical tasks, unless managed effectively.
  • Full use of arms, hands, legs, and feet to operate vehicle controls, climb in/out of the cab, and handle chemical containers.
  • Sufficient hand strength and dexterity to secure loads, operate valves/pumps on chemical containers, and handle tools or equipment.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and squat to inspect vehicles, secure loads, and access delivery points. Must climb ladders or steps on delivery trucks safely.
  • No severe spinal conditions that prevent lifting, twisting, or prolonged sitting unless managed and cleared by a medical examiner.
  • Adequate motor control and reaction time to operate a CMV and respond to sudden road hazards or spills.
  • No diagnosis of epilepsy or seizures unless seizure-free for a period specified by FMCSA guidelines.
  • No vestibular disorders that cause dizziness or loss of balance.
  • Alertness and mental clarity to follow delivery schedules, interpret chemical safety data sheets (SDS), and comply with DOT hazmat regulations.
  • No psychiatric conditions that impair judgment or safety unless managed and certified as stable by a medical examiner.
  • No use of Schedule I controlled substances or misuse of prescription medications that impair driving ability.
  • No current diagnosis of alcoholism or dependency that affects job performance.
  • Ability to safely load, unload, and transport corrosive or hazardous materials.
  • Capability to operate Landmark Aquatics’ custom-built, DOT-approved delivery trucks.
  • Endurance to work in varying weather conditions at outdoor pool facilities.
  • Physical ability to respond to spills or leaks, including moving heavy containers to contain hazards or applying emergency protocols.
  • Must pass a DOT physical conducted by an FMCSA-certified medical examiner every 24 months (or more frequently if a condition requires monitoring).
  • Drivers must complete hazmat transportation training per 49 CFR §172.700-704, including security awareness and emergency response procedures specific to Landmark Aquatics’ chemical products.

Nice To Haves

  • Basic knowledge of chemicals is appreciated but not necessary.
  • Basic knowledge of the day-to-day operations of a pool is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Accurate and timely delivery of bulk chemicals to customer sites
