About The Position

SGS is seeking a Chemical Company Assessor to perform assessments according to bluesign® criteria and ensure compliance. This role involves preparing for and conducting onsite assessments, writing reports, and managing the follow-up process for achieving compliance. The assessor will also maintain the business process tool and perform follow-up assessments to monitor continuous improvement. Project work may also be required, with potential for occasional business travel to Canada and Latin America.

Requirements

Engineering/natural science/technical degree, ideally textile related (e.g., textile engineer, chemical engineer, environmental scientist or similar).
Knowledge in product stewardship, classification and labelling, and regulatory affairs.
Knowledge in chemistry and/or plastic industry manufacturing.
Knowledge in environment, health, and safety.
Prior experience with auditing.
Good English skills (especially written).
Fluent in Spanish.
Good communicator, enjoys working in teams and in multi-cultural settings.
Team player with proven ability to work independently.
Ability to work under pressure and with good time management.
Ability to exercise good and fact-based assessments.

Responsibilities

Perform assessments according to the bluesign® criteria.
Ensure compliance with the bluesign® criteria.
Prepare for company assessments.
Pre-evaluate preparation documents.
Conduct onsite company assessments, write reports, and perform related evaluations.
Follow up on roadmaps for achieving compliance with the bluesign® criteria (implementation process).
Actualize and maintain the business process leading IT tool.
Perform follow-up assessments to monitor continuous improvement at the company.
Undertake project work as needed and agreed.
Potentially undertake occasional business travel from the US to Canada and Latin America.
