About The Position

The Chemical Process Operator will mix, monitor, test, and balance a variety of chemicals according to specified procedures and protocols. The position is 2nd shift: Monday - Thursday 4pm - 2:30am (includes Fridays during busy season) and the pay rate is $29.04 per hour plus shift differential.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience.
  • Manufacturing experience preferred (demonstrated mechanical aptitude and experience with computer controlled equipment).
  • Ability to follow standard work instructions, use measurement tools, blueprints, manuals as needed
  • Ability to work in conditions including: an indoor, dusty non-temperature controlled, industrial manufacturing and warehouse environment with varying cold and hot temperatures.
  • Ability to perform occasional outdoor activities in hot or adverse weather.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs including use of lifting assistance devices
  • Ability to stand for extended period of time
  • Ability to bend, stoop, reach, twist, squat, kneel as required
  • Ability to operate mobile equipment as required
  • This position has the potential to manage and handle hazardous materials and hazardous waste.
  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.

Responsibilities

  • Follow all Standard Work Instructions and Company Policies
  • Alert supervision to product quality or machine operation concerns
  • Maintain the 5S standard of the assigned area.
  • Unload chemicals from railcars/tanker trucks into bulk storage tanks.
  • Perform all steps necessary to maintain correct chemical balance or material mixture needed to support proper equipment operation, product quality, or other chemical needs.
  • Adhere to applicable EPA regulations for proper labeling and disposal of chemical compounds and waste.
  • Maintain all records related to processes and chemicals used, including material safety data sheets (SDS) and equipment operation logs.
