About The Position

Seeking a head chef for a long-term temporary position with the possibility of direct hire in the NYC area. The chef will oversee preparation and cooking of more than 800 meals daily, ensure HDM meals are packed for delivery each morning, serve meals to seniors, provide food for childcare and other agency programs, and cater agency events. The role also includes supporting special events, attending meetings and trainings, assisting with daily oversight of the senior center, responding to emergencies, and submitting reports on time.

Requirements

• Food Protection Certificate issued by the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene.
• Proven experience as a Head Chef and in kitchen management.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Experience preparing meals for 500 or more people and meeting nutrition guidelines.
• Proficiency in MS Office, POS, and restaurant management software.
• CPR, AED, and First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain it.
• Ability to lift heavy items, stand for long hours, and work flexible schedules.
• Skilled at supervising and training staff.

Responsibilities
