About The Position

This is a great opportunity for an experienced Chef aiming to restore their work life balance and gain employment in one of Australia’s fastest growing industries. Services for Star of the Seas are delivered by Pinangba, an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander-led arm of UnitingCare. Requirements

  • Proven experience in safe food preparation, storage and delivery
  • Clear understanding of WHS
  • Confidence in medium-high volume meal preparation
  • Relevant trade qualifications or equivalent skills from previous experience
  • Great communication skills and excellent attention to detail
  • Understanding of Australian food and beverage standards
  • Confidence to satisfy the relevant probity checks required by legislation or policies

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, cook and serve food in adherence with dietary requirements with a strong focus on food safety standards
  • Oversee Catering, Cleaning and Laundry functions across the facility and staff accommodation
  • Support senior hospitality staff members with menu design and implementation
  • Promote quality standards and maintain service with standard operating procedures including audit, stock control across all hospitality functions
