About The Position

We strive to be a leader in behavioral healthcare, supporting personal growth in a safe, healthy environment. We are looking for a compassionate, reliable Chef to join our culinary team. In an inpatient substance abuse treatment setting, food is more than just fuel, it is a vital part of the recovery process. You will play a key role in providing nourishing, delicious meals that help our clients regain their health and feel a sense of comfort and dignity during a challenging time in their lives.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1–2 years of experience in a professional kitchen (healthcare, residential, or high-volume restaurant experience preferred).
  • Must possess or be willing to obtain a ServSafe Food Handler (or Manager) certification.
  • Strong knowledge of knife skills, cooking temperatures, and kitchen equipment.
  • Ability to pass comprehensive pre-employment background checks and health screenings.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods and lift up to 40 lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and serve nutritious breakfast, lunch, and dinner options according to established menus and standardized recipes.
  • Accommodate specific dietary needs including allergies, diabetic-friendly meals, and vegetarian/vegan requests.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment.
  • Adhere to all local health department regulations and HACCP guidelines.
  • Assist in receiving deliveries, rotating stock (FIFO), and ensuring ingredients are fresh and properly stored.
  • Serve meals with a positive, professional, and empathetic attitude toward clients in recovery.
