About The Position

This position is responsible for preparing ingredients for cooking, including portioning, chopping, and storing food. The role involves washing and peeling fresh fruits and vegetables, weighing, measuring, and mixing ingredients. The Chef Tournant will prepare and cook food according to recipes, quality standards, presentation standards, and food preparation checklists, including preparing cold foods. Responsibilities include operating ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers, testing foods for doneness, and monitoring food quality during preparation. The role also involves setting up and breaking down the work station, serving food in proper portions, and maintaining a clean and sanitary kitchen area, tables, tools, knives, and equipment. Additionally, the Chef Tournant must check and ensure the correctness of the temperature of appliances and food. The position requires adherence to all company and safety/security policies and procedures, reporting maintenance needs, accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions. It also involves completing safety training and certifications, maintaining a clean and professional appearance, protecting company assets, and communicating clearly and professionally. Developing and maintaining positive working relationships, supporting team goals, and responding appropriately to employee concerns are also key aspects. The role requires adherence to quality expectations and standards, and the ability to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods, reach overhead and below the knees, and move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds without assistance. Other reasonable job duties as requested by supervisors may also be assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
  • At least 1 year of related work experience.
  • No supervisory experience.

  • Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures.
  • Report maintenance needs, accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to manager.
  • Complete safety training and certifications.
  • Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional.
  • Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information.
  • Protect company assets.
  • Speak with others using clear and professional language.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others.
  • Support team to reach common goals.
