About The Position

Caterlink is seeking a Chef Manager for St Christopher's Primary School in Red Lodge. This role focuses on providing nutritionally balanced and tasty food to students and staff. The position is term-time only, working 38 weeks per year, offering flexibility with no weekend work. The Chef Manager will be responsible for ensuring high standards of food preparation, presentation, and service, while also managing the day-to-day operations of the location. This includes supervising teams, managing inventories, monitoring budgets, and acting as the primary contact for the client. The role also involves communicating with line managers to achieve KPIs and financial targets, and supporting team development through training and performance management. Requirements

  • Experience in preparing, cooking, and presenting food to high standards.
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety, Food Safety, and environmental legislations and procedures.
  • Experience in managing inventories and monitoring budgets.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients and line managers.
  • Skills in supporting and training teams and managing performance.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults.
  • Must obtain an enhanced DBS disclosure.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, cook, and present food to the standards required by Caterlink and the client.
  • Ensure the location meets statutory and company requirements for Health and Safety, Food Safety, and environmental legislations and procedures.
  • Enhance the company’s reputation for excellent food and service with the client and customers, consistently exceeding expectations.
  • Manage the day-to-day running of the location and supervise teams, including managing inventories, monitoring budgets, and implementing action plans.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for the client in the school, recommending and implementing regular adjustments and improvements.
  • Communicate regularly with the line manager to monitor KPIs and financial targets.
  • Support and train teams, leading by example to ensure everyone can excel in their role by completing all training and managing performance.
