About The Position

Aramark Healthcare+ is seeking candidates for a Chef Manager position at Pennsylvania Hospital, located in Philadelphia, PA. Reporting to the Executive Chef, the Chef Manager is responsible for developing and executing culinary solutions to meet customer needs and tastes. Manages production for patient meals, retail front of the house dining and catering operations. Offers a wide variety of culinary solutions to meet customer and client needs and tastes. Oversees and manages culinary operations to meet production, presentation, and service standards. Applies culinary techniques to food preparation and manages the final presentation and service of food.

Requirements

  • Requires at least 2 years’ experience in a culinary management role
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • SERV Safe certification or HACCP knowledge required.
  • Strong computer skills and experience with production systems required

Nice To Haves

  • Healthcare experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manages production for 3 points of service: patient feeding, front of the house retail operations and catering.
  • Management of food and labor costs, food safety and waste controls.
  • Train and manage kitchen personnel and supervise/coordinate all related culinary activities
  • Records inventory and Estimate food consumption and requisition or purchase food
  • Select and develop recipes as well as standardize production recipes to ensure consistent quality
  • Establish presentation technique and quality standards, and plan and price menus
  • Ensure proper equipment operation/maintenance and ensure proper safety and sanitation in kitchen
  • Oversee special catering events and may also offer culinary instruction and/or demonstrates culinary techniques
  • Assists with managing patient feeding and retail operations as needed.
