About The Position

This is a full-time position for a Chef/Line Cook. Responsibilities include providing leadership, assisting in training, monitoring hygiene and safety, quality control of dishes and ingredients, ensuring good communication, and supporting staff in all positions. The role also involves ensuring normal operations continue within management standards in the absence of a manager.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years kitchen/line cook experience
  • Previous or current employer references
  • Must have weekend availability
  • Food handler cards are required by the city of Columbia within 30 days of hiring
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds
  • Must be able to walk or stand consistently for extended periods of time
  • Availability must remain consistent with applications for a minimum of 6 months upon initial hiring

Responsibilities

  • Providing leadership within the guidelines set by the management team
  • Assisting in the training process
  • Monitoring of hygiene and safety practices
  • Monitoring quality control for dishes and ingredients
  • Ensuring good communication with all staff and management
  • Have knowledge and provide support for staff in all positions as needed
  • Ensuring normal operations continue within the standards set by the management team in the absence of a manager on duty
  • Opening and closing the line
  • Ensuring a clean workspace at the end of each shift
