About The Position

Sticky Fingers Cooking® of Austin is looking to hire part-time Chef Instructors willing to work in the West Lake/Eanes ISD area! This role involves leading hour-long healthy and engaging cooking enrichment classes for students aged 3-18. Instructors will teach basic kitchen skills, nutrition, and the cultural context of recipes, using a provided kit with all necessary equipment and tools. The position requires independent shopping for fresh ingredients and reviewing weekly class curricula. The company emphasizes cultivating culinary curiosity and teaching kids healthy food habits.

Requirements

Availability at least 2 days a week (Monday - Friday, between 2-5 pm).
Commitment to teaching full sessions (ranging from 4-12 weeks).
ServSafe Food Handler Certification (can obtain before teaching).
Ability to manage and engage a group of 8-14 children with diverse backgrounds and academic levels.
Upon hire, employees will be required to pass a fingerprint background check.
Access to reliable transportation.
Ability to communicate with our team in a timely manner.
Punctual and reliable.

Nice To Haves

Experience working with kids of varying ages is a plus.
Proof of COVID-19 vaccination may be required by districts and schools.

Responsibilities

Lead hour-long healthy and engaging cooking enrichment classes for students aged 3-18.
Teach basic kitchen skills including washing, cutting, grating, stirring, measuring, and nutrition.
Educate children on the history, geography, and language behind each recipe.
Shop independently for fresh ingredients for weekly classes.
Review weekly class curricula and prepare for instruction.
Manage and engage a group of 8-14 children with diverse backgrounds and academic levels.
Interact with children, parents, and school staff.
Teach kids healthy food habits.
