About The Position

CocuSocial is an established culinary experience provider in the U.S. that brings people together through hands-on cooking, baking, and tasting experiences at partner venues across Orange County. Our classes are designed to feel like an outing as much as a lesson, where guests can try something new in a social, low-pressure setting at interesting venues. Classes are beginner-friendly, with most guests having no prior cooking class experience. The role involves planning and leading hands-on classes from start to finish at various venues such as restaurants, hotels, cafés, and event spaces. Classes are typically for groups of up to 26 guests, often held on evenings and weekends. The position is in-person only, with venues located within a 30-minute commute. The ability to lift up to 50 lbs is required. Instructors may teach a variety of cuisines and dishes, including handmade pasta, French pastry, dumplings, sushi, and paella, or other cuisines based on the instructor's strengths. CocuSocial offers a flexible schedule, with compensation ranging from $200 to $350 per class, plus tips. The company handles marketing, bookings, and guest communication, and provides support for developing and refining class formats.

Requirements

Culinary experience: chef, caterer, culinary instructor, culinary school grad, or accomplished self-taught cook
Comfortable leading a group and teaching in a clear, hands-on way
Reliable and organized
Evening and weekend availability
ServSafe or Equivalent (Required)

Nice To Haves

Prior teaching or demonstration experience
Access to a venue that could host classes (home kitchen, restaurant, event space)
