About The Position

ArcelorMittal Mines et Infrastructure Canada is seeking an Engineering Service Manager. This role will be responsible for functional coordination, planning, and alignment of engineering activities across the project portfolio. The manager will ensure the quality, consistency, and performance of deliverables while supporting project managers in a multi-project environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
  • Member of the OIQ (Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec).
  • 15 to 20 years of experience in industrial engineering.
  • Experience in project management and multidisciplinary coordination.
  • Experience with external engineering firms.
  • Excellent planning, prioritization, and organizational skills.
  • Transversal leadership and ability to mobilize teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple engineering projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a mining environment (significant asset).

Responsibilities

  • Act as the central point of coordination under the Director of Engineering for all engineering activities.
  • Ensure functional coordination of principal engineers (process, mechanical, QA/QC, electrical, instrumentation, R&D) by aligning priorities.
  • Analyze project needs and structure engineering mandates (expected deliverables, identification of required disciplines, clarification of technical interfaces, etc.).
  • Dispatch and prioritize work among principal engineers, internal experts, and other stakeholders.
  • Plan and coordinate activities in a multi-project environment by managing global priorities and ensuring overall resource utilization.
  • Participate in the coordination of external engineering firms: Define mandates and expectations, monitor engineering execution, validate the quality and consistency of deliverables.
  • Consolidate the engineering progress status of various projects, identify risks and issues, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Implement and maintain coordination process tools (deliverable standards, tracking mechanisms, interface management processes).
  • Ensure structured communication with management to provide a consolidated project vision, report critical issues, and support decision-making.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of engineering practices at ArcelorMittal Mines Canada through standardization of work methods, improvement of coordination efficiency, and optimization of internal/external interfaces.
