Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a supervisory role as a chef in hotels or banquet areas.
  • Solid oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to handle challenging situations with professionalism and efficiency, especially under pressure and with minimal supervision.
  • Physical ability to perform job duties, including standing for prolonged periods, bending, lifting up to 60 pounds, and other required physical movements.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Availability to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Bilingual (Spanish and English).

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for overseeing kitchen operations, ensuring high standards in food preparation, presentation, and hygiene, in accordance with hotel and restaurant guidelines.
  • Prepares high-quality dishes following recipes and presentation standards.
  • Supervises and trains kitchen staff, fostering teamwork and smooth service coordination.
  • Monitors food quality, freshness, and consistency; ensures compliance with safety and hygiene regulations.
  • Manages inventory, controls stock levels, and minimizes waste.
  • Collaborates on purchasing, menu development, and meeting food and labor cost objectives.
  • Maintains updated records and supports financial objectives by managing kitchen operations efficiently.
  • Complies with all safety, hygiene, and personal presentation standards; completes necessary training and certifications.
  • Follows all company safety and health policies and procedures; reports accidents, injuries, and unsafe working conditions to supervisor.
  • Completes safety training and certifications.
  • Develops and maintains positive working relationships with others, supports the team in achieving common goals, and listens and responds appropriately to the concerns of other employees.
  • Ensures uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional, and maintains the confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Performs other reasonable tasks as requested by their manager.
