About The Position

Ebenezer is looking for a Cook/Chef to join our team at Martin Luther Care Center. This position is responsible for preparing and cooking meals as assigned using standardized recipes to meet established culinary standards of high quality care. The culinary position will plate food for optimal eye appeal to entice food consumption by our residents in our Senior Living Community located in Bloomington, MN. This full-time culinary services position includes 80 hours per two weeks, a day/evening shift, and every other weekend. Martin Luther Care Center, part of the Martin Luther Senior Living Campus, is located in East Bloomington, near woodlands/wetlands and along the Minnesota River Bluffs. Managed by Ebenezer, we offer 137 units between our Skilled Nursing, Memory Care and Transitional Care. We have an outstanding team of tenured staff. Martin Luther Care Center was named Top Nursing Home and Transitional Care Center by US News and World Reports the past two years.

Requirements

• One to Three Years
• Must be 18+ years old
• Food Handlers certification Issued by an ANAB-CFP accredited food sanitation program within 90 Days

Nice To Haves

• Associate of Arts or Vocational/Technical Training - Food Service
• Working knowledge of basic Microsoft applications
• Food Protection Manager certification Issued by an ANAB-CFP accredited food sanitation program within 90 Days
• Certified Food Protection Manager certificate (CFPM) Must be issued by the State of Minnesota for locations in the state of MN within 90 Days

Responsibilities

• Food Preparation.
• Properly cook foods to specified temperatures.
• Products meet temperature and quality standards.
• Follow standardized recipes and products to ensure products are consistent in quality and nutritional value.
• Weigh and measure ingredients per standardized recipes.
• Use correct portioning utensils.
• Assemble food within specified time frames.
• Production is and meal service is provided in a timely manner.
• Prepare bakery items per standardized recipes.
• Accurately complete tasks listed on daily preparation sheets.
• Assist with the special events.
