About The Position

The Cheese Shop role supports a full-service Murray’s Cheese experience through food passion, cheese knowledge, interactive customer service, and merchandising. The employee works closely with the in-store Murray’s Cheese Master to create an outgoing, personal, and theatrical cheese-retail environment. The role models the company’s values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety.

The position includes cutting, wrapping, and merchandising cheese and related grocery items; engaging customers through demonstrations, conversations, and tastings; and helping meet sales and gross-profit goals. The employee follows health, safety, sanitation, and operational guidelines, maintains a fully stocked and fresh product selection, and completes Murray’s training programs. The role also supports the Murray’s Boutique experience through customer education, service, cross-selling, and product promotion.

• Retail experience.
• Support for cheese-business initiatives and strong interest in food.
• Ability to inspire and motivate customers while completing assigned tasks.

Responsibilities

• Cut, wrap, and merchandise cheese and related grocery items.
• Conduct demonstrations in the Murray’s Cheese Shop, Deli, and other areas.
• Provide proactive customer service through ongoing conversations and tastings.
• Participate in daily cheese tastings to develop product expertise.
• Contribute to target sales and gross-profit goals.
• Follow health, safety, and sanitation guidelines for all products.
• Comply with the Murray’s operations manual and maintain a fully stocked, fresh, signed, and rotated product selection.
• Complete Murray’s Basic Skills Training and Murray’s Red Jacket Training.
• Create and maintain the Murray’s Boutique experience through education, service, effective cross-selling, merchandising, and promoting designated products.
• Perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
