About The Position

Oversees fill station areas to provide quality packaging for 640 # blocks. This role involves operating and maintaining fill station equipment, ensuring product quality and safety, and adhering to company values and operational standards.

Requirements

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

  • Must be able to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items, works with the fingers, and perceives attributes of objects and materials.
  • Involves moderate physical activity performing somewhat strenuous daily activities of a primarily product/technical nature.
  • Should be able to identify and distinguish colors, see clearly at 20 inches or closer and 20 feet or more, observe an area that can be seen up and down or to the left and right while eyes are fixed on a given point, judge distances and spatial relationships, and adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus.

Responsibilities

  • Perform and follow proper LOTO procedures for all fill station operations.
  • Run all fill station operations.
  • Calibrate scale by placing dolly on the scale with the 1000lb weight.
  • Run all DI operations (Calibrate Hoppers, dose blocks, log weights etc.).
  • Inspect each block for foreign material ex. Plastic, metal, excessive peppers, other color cheese etc.
  • Perform hourly metal detector tests.
  • Perform DI magnet inspections.
  • Operate HMI and basic knowledge of the track system.
  • Fill out all log sheets for area.
  • Understanding shuttle car selections and functions.
  • Loading and selection of vacuum chambers for filling.
  • Perform CIP on 640 fill lines, VC 1-4, 5-8, 9-13, 14-18 and DI lines.
  • COP fill station press plates, tracks 1A/1B through 3A/3B, Shuttle Car 1/2 and all surrounding areas.
  • Perform start-up functions such connections, metal checks and necessary calibrations.
  • Run DI machine and proper cleaning of empty DI totes.
  • General housekeeping and at end of your shift check your area and clean up.
  • Keeps record in accordance with good manufacturing process and local and state laws.
  • Utilizes GPS processes, driving zero losses and upholds the culture of Southwest Cheese non-negotiables.
  • Comply with occupational safety and health standards and all rules, regulations, and orders issued pursuant to the Occupational Safety and Health Act which are applicable to his/her own actions and conduct.
  • Complies with all applicable food safety regulations and mandates. (Food Safety Modernization Act- FSMA, Safe Quality Foods, Food and Drug Admin, Pasteurized Milk Ordinance).
  • Assist with training of new team members.
  • Facilitate or oversee training and standard operating procedure reviews to ensure new hires develop proficiency of role.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
