About The Position

Position is responsible for providing leadership, supervision, and coaching instruction. Responsibilities may include supervising teams at varsity, junior varsity, and middle school levels. The role involves assisting the Head Coach with planning and running practices, coaching during practices and games, communicating expectations to parents and players, and ensuring proper supervision of the team during all activities. The position requires adherence to school board requirements and attendance at coaches' meetings.

Requirements

In-depth knowledge and advanced strategies of applicable sport.
Knowledge of VHSL rules.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Ability to mentor and develop players in a positive way.
Desire to teach and improve skill development.
Must pass criminal record check.
Previous experience as a player and/or coaching at any level.
A comparable amount of training and experience may be substituted for the minimum qualifications.

Responsibilities

Under the direction of the Head Coach, assist with planning practices, running practices, and coaching during practices and games.
Communicate expectations to parents and players.
Ensure there are always two coaches at the field.
Attend all practices and games.
Arrange for practices/game coverage if you are unable to attend.
Start and end practices on time.
You and other designated coach are always the last to leave the field.
Adhere to school board requirements and recommendations.
Attend all coaches' meetings.
Assist with player selection.
Supervision of team during all activities.
