Cheer Coach
About The Position
Provides direct leadership, instruction, and motivation for students in Tumbling/Cheer lessons and Cheer team practices. Instructs tumbling and cheer classes/practices in accordance with YMCA and USASF guidelines, having prepared lesson plans accordingly. Builds effective, authentic relationships with students and parents, helping them connect with each other and the YMCA. Conveys information on gymnastics, tumbling and cheerleading programs and schedules and refers students and parents to other programs as appropriate. Maintains records such as attendance and progress reports. Attends all required staff meetings and trainings. Follows all YMCA Policies, rules, regulations and procedures, including emergency and safety procedures, and completes incident reports as necessary. Organizes and puts away needed class equipment and reports damaged equipment. Treats all participants equally and sets a good example. Assists with daily cleaning duties as assigned and performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Requirements
- CPR, AED, Basic First Aid certification, and all West Bend online courses.
- Must be able to demonstrate gymnastic/tumbling instructor skills in accordance with YMCA standards.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds.
- At least 14 years of age.
Responsibilities
- Instruct tumbling, and cheer classes/practices in accordance with YMCA and USASF guidelines; having prepared lesson plans accordingly.
- Be on time for job assignment and accept changes in schedule that affect assigned jobs.
- Dressed in coaching uniform.
- Build effective, authentic relationships with students and parents; help them connect with each other and the YMCA.
- Convey information on gymnastics, tumbling and cheerleading programs and schedules and as appropriate- refers students and parents to other programs.
- Maintain records as required (i.e. attendance, progress reports, etc.).

- Clock in and out for each shift through the Paylocity App and complete paper timecard each shift.
- Assist with daily cleaning duties as assigned.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
