About The Position

Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc., (SGA), is searching for a Checkpoint Firewall Operations Analyst for a contract assignment with one of our premier Utility clients in Lutz, FL. A Firewall Operations Analyst will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the firm's network firewalls. This will include working tickets for firewall change requests, working with projects to advise from a network security perspective, and troubleshooting network issues that from a firewall perspective.

Requirements

Strong knowledge of Checkpoint firewalls, VPN configuration/troubleshooting, and network security best practices is a requirement.
Recent experience with Checkpoint firewalls (R81.x or higher)
Experience with routing and switching (Cisco)
Experience with VPN setup, implementation, and troubleshooting.
Experience with regulatory compliance environments (NERC preferred)

Nice To Haves

Experience with Azure and Amazon VPNs with Checkpoint preferred
Experience with regulatory compliance environments is preferred

Responsibilities

Network/firewall troubleshooting, including troubleshooting issues with Checkpoint firewalls and Cisco Routers/Switches.
Planning, engineering, and implementing of firewall changes.
Collaborating with Enterprise Architects and business partners for network security/firewall changes.
Regular attendance of project meetings as a representative of the Firewall Operations team.
Maintenance and support of network firewalls.
Tasks including regular patching, upgrades, and troubleshooting of firewall hardware.
Adherence to changing management process
Technical writing to include documentation of firewall changes and documenting standards.
Regular on-call rotation for firewall related issues.
Additional responsibilities include the patching and maintenance of Checkpoint firewalls.
