About The Position

This position involves providing friendly and courteous service to customers, accurately checking out their purchases, and processing various forms of payment. The role requires regular, reliable attendance and the ability to identify produce items and their codes. Additionally, the checker will handle coupons, maintain cash security, and bag customer orders. Other duties may be assigned by store management.

Requirements

Must be 18+ years old to apply
Regular, reliable attendance is an essential function of the job.
Minimum of six months employment with Schnucks preferred for Store/Facility Teammates
Minimum of one year employment with Schnucks preferred for Store Support Center Teammates
Must be in good standing (not on a performance improvement plan or active discipline)
If invited for an interview, must have manager approval based on performance.

Nice To Haves

Ability to distinguish between manufacturer coupons and Schnucks coupons
Ability to process manufacturer coupons

Responsibilities

Provide friendly and courteous service to customers
Greet customers prior to checking their order
Check out customer’s purchases accurately
Identify and know produce items and be able to properly use produce and product codes
Distinguish between manufacturer coupons and Schnucks coupons
Process manufacturer coupons
Collect correct amount due from customer
Use proper procedure of accepting cash, checks, debit cards, credit cards, EBT cards, WIC vouchers and other payment options
Complete register record accurately
Practice and maintain cash security
Bag customer orders
Change register receipt and coupon machine tapes
