About The Position
This position involves providing friendly and courteous service to customers by accurately checking out their purchases. The role requires regular and reliable attendance, greeting customers, identifying and knowing produce items, and properly using produce and product codes. The checker must distinguish between manufacturer and Schnucks coupons, process manufacturer coupons, and collect the correct amount due from the customer. Proficiency in various payment options including cash, checks, debit cards, credit cards, EBT cards, and WIC vouchers is necessary. The role also involves completing the register record accurately, practicing and maintaining cash security, bagging customer orders, and changing register receipt and coupon machine tapes. Additional duties may be assigned by store management.
Requirements
- 18 years or older to apply
- Regular, reliable attendance is an essential function of the job.
- Internal Candidates: minimum of six months employment with Schnucks preferred.
- Store Support Center Teammates: minimum of one year employment with Schnucks preferred.
- Must be in good standing (not on a performance improvement plan or active discipline).
- If invited for an interview, must have manager approval based on performance.

Responsibilities
- Provide friendly and courteous service to customers

- Identify and know produce items and be able to properly use produce and product codes
- Distinguish between manufacturer coupons and Schnucks coupons
- Process manufacturer coupons
- Collect correct amount due from customer
- Use proper procedure of accepting cash, checks, debit cards, credit cards, EBT cards, WIC vouchers and other payment options
- Complete register record accurately
- Practice and maintain cash security
- Bag customer orders
- Change register receipt and coupon machine tapes
