About The Position

Ford Racing is seeking a Chassis Systems Engineer focused on the analysis and integration of chassis components to achieve vehicle-level performance targets for future Ford Racing production vehicles. This role involves integrating chassis components into a cohesive vehicle system. The engineer will collaborate closely with D&R engineers, Vehicle Engineering, Vehicle Dynamics, and cross-functional teams to define vehicle kinematic and compliance targets, manage system health chart documentation, support development milestones, and ensure that chassis-related data, ADAMS models, and test outputs meet program requirements. The ideal candidate possesses strong technical judgment, meticulous attention to detail, and experience with both prototype and production vehicle builds. This position requires the ability to translate test data and engineering requirements into practical recommendations that enhance chassis component development, vehicle dynamics performance, durability readiness, and milestone achievement. Occasional travel may be necessary to support vehicle development and supplier reviews.

Requirements

  • Ensure compatibility between chassis components, including bushing, ball joint, and threaded fastener joint designs.
  • Coordinate durability vehicle preparation and testing, ensuring part pedigree aligns with the CAE model.
  • Lead problem-solving efforts for chassis component issues.
  • Support testing, prototype, launch builds, and ongoing production of Ford Racing vehicles at assembly plants and test facilities.
  • Set targets for vehicle ride height and alignment, evaluate status during vehicle builds, and communicate travel and check load requirements to shock and spring suppliers.
  • Interface daily with a global team of D&R engineers, vehicle attribute teams, program management, suppliers, and manufacturing to ensure compliance with specifications and facilitate efficient decision-making.
