In this position, you will work cross functionally with other teams to develop system level solutions for existing and new Features and Functions. Some of the functions the team is responsible for are Stability Control, Regen Braking, Trail Control, Park brake, and several other braking features. In addition, we support several ADAS braking features such as Automatic Cruise Control and Automatic Emergency Braking. This is a highly dynamic role where you will be working on a wide range of deliverables such as Boundary Diagrams, FMEAs, Functional Safety, Requirements development, and test case development. You will also work closely with suppliers in the implementation and testing of the requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in control systems or software development experience

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s Degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field
  • 5+ years of controls system and state machine development experience
  • Demonstrated experience in Matlab/Simulink Experience applying Systems Engineering
  • Familiarity with Vector CANAPE and CANalyzer
  • Troubleshooting experience with electromechanical systems
  • Experience developing and executing test plans
  • Experience applying engineering disciplines for failure mode avoidance
  • Familiarity with ISO-26262
  • Familiarity with Agile/SAFe tools and processes
  • Demonstrated proficiency with CAN communication and databases
  • Experience developing software requirements
  • Good communications and project management skills
  • Strong leadership skills, passion for quality, passion to improve customer satisfaction
  • Good teamwork skills

Responsibilities

  • Innovate new Chassis control features and functions
  • Develop specifications and design verification plans for control systems and features
  • Perform systems engineering on Chassis Controls Features and Function including Failure Mode Avoidance
  • Work closely with Ford engineers and Tier-1 suppliers to develop feature interface requirements
  • Perform software functional validation (MIL/SIL testing) and work closely with HIL test engineers
  • Conduct Functional Safety analysis and implement actions
