Chassis Controls MIL Developer

General MotorsMilford, MI

About The Position

Our Mission: At General Motors, our product teams are redefining mobility. Through a human-centered design process, we create vehicles and experiences that are designed not just to be seen, but to be felt. We’re turning today’s impossible into tomorrow’s standard —from breakthrough hardware and battery systems to intuitive design, intelligent software, and next-generation safety and entertainment features. Every day, our products move millions of people as we aim to make driving safer, smarter, and more connected, shaping the future of transportation on a global scale. Role Summary: Are you a passionate about chassis controls? Does working on cutting edge chassis technology get you excited to come to work? Do you enjoy working on software and calibration? Are you creative, innovative, and eager to do things we’ve never done before at GM? If so, you should apply for Chassis Controls Project Manager. In this role, you will be responsible for creating and executing the “Design First” principles to enable new chassis technologies to go from concept to a Technology Readiness Level (TRL) 6 and beyond. To properly develop new technologies, you will work with Controls Design Engineers, Model in the Loop Engineers, and a Rapid Prototype team to develop a solid controls foundation. The end result will be a proof of concept that is ready to move to a production team. The role is to help lead our Chassis organization to “Enable Confident, Early Design Decisions on Chassis Technology.” To create an engineering environment where teams can make early, confident design decisions through models, simulation, and structured exploration of the problem space. Our mission is to help engineers discover risks sooner, evaluate options thoughtfully, and refine designs efficiently while improving quality and reducing rework. By focusing on early insight rather than late correction, Controls Design First strengthens safety, performance, and technical clarity across control‑system development. Through shared standards, collaborative reviews, and an integrated toolchain, we aim to build organizational alignment, support innovation, and deliver measurable improvements in engineering outcomes.
