About The Position

The Charge Table Operator is responsible for identifying tube pipes, assisting with loading them into the furnace, and inputting pipe information into the MES (Manufacturing Execution System). This role operates within a manufacturing environment and requires attention to detail, manual dexterity, and the ability to follow safety protocols.

Requirements

  • Read, write and speak English in a clear and effective manner.
  • Manual dexterity is required for operating machinery, hand tools and hand held technical devices.
  • Visibility of work requires attention to detail and basic computer skills.
  • Employee must be able to work with a flexible schedule which may require over-time.
  • Lifting, pulling and/or pushing of materials and product up to 50 pounds.
  • Standing and walking considerable distances.
  • Operation requires the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) to include but not limited to; eye safety glasses, hearing protection, work boots, and hardhats.
  • Loose fitting clothes and jewelry are not permitted.

Nice To Haves

  • A High School diploma or GED equivalent is preferred.
  • Knowledge of OCTG manufacturing processes, procedures, and operation is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Identifying and ensuring that the pipe loaded onto the charge table has the correct heat number.
  • Keep track of Heat numbers and sequence count.
  • Keep pipe available for the rotary arm to pick up.
  • Completing all paper work accurately during shift.
  • Painting the end of every lot at charged entry and at quench discharge for traceability.
  • Communicating the product details and unfinished duties whenever there is a change of operator.
  • Inputting information into M.E.S.
  • Employee must follow all PPE policies and safety rules.
