About The Position

As a Charge RN, you will oversee frontline nurses caring for patients and provide direct supervision of personnel practicing on nursing units. You will support nurses in reaching their potential while advancing the department’s operational goals and objectives. The role calls for accountability, confidence, strong communication in individual and group settings, and comfort holding difficult conversations related to staff and unit performance. Prior experience in acute care, long-term care, or nursing homes is described as valuable.

Requirements

• Associate of Science in Nursing, upon hire.
• Registered Nurse license in Kentucky, upon hire.
• Basic Life Support (CPR), within 14 days.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support, within 90 days.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support, within 90 days.
• Accountability, confidence, and strong communication skills, including in individual and group settings.
• Comfort holding difficult conversations concerning staff and unit performance.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in acute care, long-term care, or nursing homes.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct supervision of personnel practicing on Nursing Units.
• Makes patient care assignments, evaluates assignments, facilitates patient throughput, and directly observes staff performance on the assigned shift.
• Proactively matches existing resources to provide patient care that supports staff and maintains a therapeutic environment.
• Monitors productivity and ensures staffing and resources are aligned with patient care needs.
• Communicates personnel-related concerns to the Unit Manager.
• Uses a logical, systematic approach to problems and problem-solving.
• Facilitates Patient Experience best practices on the unit, such as hourly rounding.
