Charge Registered Nurse RN Corrections
About The Position
The Charge Registered Nurse oversees the total healthcare delivery system in an assigned nursing unit, including collecting and evaluating health-status data, nursing diagnosis, goal setting, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care. The role provides direct supervision of patient teaching and ensures ancillary personnel perform only services for which they are qualified. The Charge RN is accountable for the overall quality of patient care in the assigned unit. This position is 0.9 FTE, combining 0.3 FTE as Charge RN and 0.6 FTE as Staff RN. The schedule is three 12-hour day shifts, 0600–1830, with weekend and holiday rotation. Self-scheduling options are available. Applicants must reside in the United States.
Requirements
- At least one year of supervisor experience.
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
- Current Registered Nurse licensure in the state of employment.
- Current CPR certification.
- Must reside in the United States.

Responsibilities
- Supervise the healthcare delivery system in the assigned unit, ensure compliance with policies and procedures, and coordinate patient care with other departments.
- Monitor nursing services, maintain accurate records, identify potential problems, and propose corrective actions as needed.
- Assist with staff orientation, training, and evaluations, and coordinate staffing levels to meet contractual requirements.
- Ensure the cleanliness, maintenance, and appearance of the unit, and maintain appropriate levels of medical equipment and supplies.
- Maintain a professional atmosphere and attend monthly staff meetings as directed by the Director of Nursing or Administrator.
- Provide direct supervision of patient teaching and ensure ancillary personnel perform only services for which they are qualified.
