Charge Registered Nurse
About The Position
The Charge Registered Nurse oversees the total health care delivery system in an assigned nursing unit. This includes collecting and evaluating health status data, nursing diagnosis, goal setting, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care. The role provides direct supervision of patient teaching and ensures ancillary personnel perform only services for which they are qualified. The Charge RN is accountable for the overall quality of patient care in the assigned unit. The position supports a mission-driven organization providing compassionate care to underserved and vulnerable patients. Ongoing training and development opportunities and clinical resources are available to licensed and unlicensed healthcare team members.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse within the state of employment.
- Current CPR Certification.

- Prefer a minimum of one year of clinical experience.
Responsibilities
- Supervise the health care delivery system in the assigned unit, ensure compliance with policies and procedures, and coordinate patient care with other departments.
- Monitor nursing services, maintain accurate records, identify potential problems, and propose corrective actions as needed.
- Assist with staff orientation, training, and evaluations, and coordinate staffing levels to meet contractual requirements.
- Ensure the cleanliness, maintenance, and appearance of the unit and maintain appropriate levels of medical equipment and supplies.
- Maintain a professional atmosphere and attend monthly staff meetings as directed by the Director of Nursing or Administrator.
- Oversee collection and evaluation of health status data, nursing diagnosis, goal setting, care planning, implementation, and evaluation.
- Supervise patient teaching and ensure ancillary personnel perform only services for which they are qualified.
- Remain accountable for the overall quality of patient care in the assigned unit.
