Seton Medical Center Harker Heights is an 83-bed acute care hospital offering services such as Cardiology, Emergency Services and a Level IV Trauma Designated ER, General Surgery, Orthopedic Surgery, Total Joint Replacement, Gastroenterology, Diagnostic Services and more.
Requirements
- Completion of education to obtain Texas Licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
- Registered Nurse (RN) with Texas Board of Nursing – OR – current home state license is required for multi-state license recognition through the Nurse Licensure Compact
- Required to complete the education necessary to obtain my BSN degree within four (4) years of my date of hire with Seton Medical Center Harker Heights
- BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
- ACLS through American Heart Association (AHA) required upon hire
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a Med/Surg hospital setting required

- Minimum of one (1) year of experience as a charge or relief charge nurse
Responsibilities
- Serves as the clinical leader responsible for operations and management of the Med/Surg unit.
- Assumes responsibility for shift operations such as making appropriate assignments, coordinating care, resolving issues, functioning as the resource nurse, participating in staffing decisions, rounding on patients, and maintaining TJC compliance.
- Assumes long range responsibilities such as employee evaluations, corrective action, business/budget planning, and performance improvement.
