About The Position

Under the general supervision of the Manager, Director or designate in the Diagnostic Services portfolio, and while demonstrating a commitment to the Mission, Values and Management Philosophy of Shared Health, the Charge Radiology Technologist is responsible in assisting in the day-to-day planning, organization, directing and controlling of the departments in an efficient and effective manner. Functions as an independent self-directed professional in the delivery of direct patient care. Maintains a safe environment in accordance with professional and provincial guidelines and ensures compliance with quality assurance program.

Requirements

  • A minimum of three years' experience as a General Duty Radiology Technologist.
  • Graduate of an accredited school of Medical Imaging Technology.
  • Successful completion of the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologist certification exam (CAMRT).
  • Must be in good standing with CAMRT-MB and CAMRT.
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) training requirements in accordance to Employer policy.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Understanding of office applications in a Windows environment with experience working with Microsoft Office programs preferred.
  • Demonstrates strong organization and prioritizing skills.
  • Demonstrates strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrates ability to develop constructive and cooperative working relationships in a multi-disciplinary team and with external agencies, groups and the public.
  • Physical health to meet the requirements of the position including standing or walking for extended periods of time without resting.
  • Must demonstrate the use of safe and effective body mechanics while working with clients.
  • Must be able to safely transfer large and/or heavy clients who may have limited or no weight bearing capabilities.
  • Must be able to lift and position clients, some of whom are in a state of unconsciousness.
  • Must be able to push/pull portable equipment is a safe manner.
  • Regular travel throughout the service area may be required as well as a valid Manitoba’s driver’s license and use of a personal motor vehicle.
  • Current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment.
  • A security check is considered current if it was obtained no more than six (6) months prior to the start of employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Completion of a formal management training program or health care administration course is an asset.
