About The Position

Northwest HealthCare, six miles west of Christian, offers 24- hour emergency care, the Sleep Disorders Center and a variety of outpatient diagnostic and imaging services. The Radiology Department at NWHC, provides out-patient and emergency services. Radiology is equipped with DR & PAC's technology. Our patients range from infant to late adulthood. Digital mammography performs screening, diagnostic & diagnostic follow up services. Diagnostic Radiology offers same day service.

Requirements

  • Associate degree or higher in related field
  • Certification as a Registered Technologist in Radiography - R.T.(R)
  • Associate degree or Trade School equivalency (or higher level of education)
  • Certification as a Registered Technologist in Radiography - R.T.(R)
  • 2 years’ experience
  • IEMA - Illinois only, excl MRI
  • RTR,CT,MR,M,BD,CI,VI,RCIS,RCES

Nice To Haves

  • 2 years Xray Tech(highly preferred)
  • Advanced modality training
  • 5-10 years experience
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation

Responsibilities

  • Performs diagnostic imaging procedures in at least one advanced imaging modality (defined as MRI,CT, IVR, Mammography, Bone Density, Cardiac Catherization) on adults and/or pediatric patients for the purpose of diagnosis and/or treatment, and quality control.
  • Assists staff technologist in prioritizing and problem solving patient care or imaging issues, and serves as a resource person.
  • Delegates tasks to ensure proper daily operations.
  • Assumes responsibilities of supervisor in their absence.
  • Assists in the development and training of students and/or new employees.
  • Provides continuing mentorship to adv. mod tech, adv. mod senior tech, and Adv. Mod CI.
  • Prepares patient and equipment for procedures.
  • Performs studies independently, in on-call situations, portable exams, and other site as required by work area.
  • Oversees shift operations to include daily workflow, assignments, lunch schedules, and adjusts priorities and assignments to best meet department needs.
  • Enters/escalates IT and equipment tickets.
  • Serves as the clinical resource and expert for the technologists. Their responsibilities include but are not limited to: problem solving, assisting with difficult exams, and mentoring.
  • Serves as the clinical liaison between the team and supervisor. Ensures that proper information is communicated from the team and escalated to the supervisor appropriately.
  • Maintains/orders necessary supplies for department needs.
