Charge Nurse
About The Position
The Joseph "Eddie" Ballard Western Kentucky Veterans Center is a 156-bed long term care facility committed to serving Kentucky’s Veterans by fostering independence, preserving dignity, and providing compassionate care. We are currently seeking a motivated Registered Nurse to work in our nursing department as a Charge Nurse- M.D.S Coordinator. This position will ensure resident assessments (M.D.S). The work schedule for this position is Monday through Friday 7:00am to 3:30pm. This position, in Hopkins county has an approved Locality Premium of $14.36 in compliance with 101 KAR 2:034 Section 9(1).
Requirements
- Must have two years of experience as a Registered Nurse.
- Must be licensed in Kentucky as a registered nurse or possess a valid work permit issued by the Kentucky Board of Nursing.
- Must maintain any required licensure(s), certification(s), or other credentials for the length of employment in this job classification.
- Good communications and documentation skills
- Good work ethics
- Critical thinking and problem solving skills
- Team leader
Nice To Haves
- Experience with M.D.S/R.A.I. in long-term care is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Initiates M.D.S and Care Plan process for new residents
- Ensures compliance with State, Federal and VA guidelines relating to M.D.S and Care Planning.
- Administer medications and treatments, as well as helping to meet the physical and psychosocial needs of our Veterans.
