About The Position

BHC Alhambra Hospital is seeking a Charge Nurse (RN) for the NOC shift (7:00 pm-7:30 am). This 115-bed facility, established in 1924, is a private, fully accredited, full-service acute psychiatric hospital serving children, adolescents, and adults. BHC Alhambra is dedicated to providing quality behavioral health, substance abuse, and eating disorder treatment through inpatient, residential, partial hospitalization, and intensive outpatient options. The Charge Nurse (R.N.) is responsible for prescribing, delegating, coordinating, and evaluating patient care through collaborative efforts with health team members, in accordance with the nursing process and standards of care. This role includes supervisory responsibilities for LVN/LPT and Program Specialist.

Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited program of professional nursing required.
• Currently licensed to practice by the State Board of Nursing.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
• A minimum of three (3) years experience as a registered nurse in a psychiatric health care facility is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Complete a comprehensive nursing assessment and patient interview according to policy within eight hours of patient’s admission to the unit.
• Document patient information and nursing care.
• Document and reassess any significant changes in the patient’s condition in compliance with facility’s policy.
• Delegate staff assignments based on patient needs.
• Makes daily patient care assignments based on individual staff’s level of competency.
• Supervises nursing staff to assure timely completion of patient activities of daily living (ADL’s).
