About The Position

Under general direction, and in accordance with the State of California Practice Nurse Act, plans, organizes, and supervises nursing staff; manages, reports on, and provides resources for direct patient care in major inpatient units and outpatient units as directed; and to perform related work as required. This class reports directly to a senior level hospital management staff member. Week-end rotation is required.

Requirements

Possession of Associate’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university.
Minimum 2 years as a Registered Nurse, preferably in an acute care setting.
Adequate experience to demonstrate critical thinking with organizational skills in performing multiple tasks and priorities.
Possession of a valid license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of California.
BLS Certification
ACLS Certification
Knowledge of nursing processes and its application to patient care.
Knowledge of teaching, coaching and mentoring processes.
Knowledge of licensure, accreditation and regulatory requirements.
Knowledge of personnel scheduling, group dynamics, teambuilding and conflict management, problem solving and management techniques.
Knowledge of hospital established policies, quality assurance program, safety, environmental and infection control policies and procedures and Nursing Practice Act of the State of California.
Knowledge of Federal, State, and local laws and regulations governing professional aspects of nursing.
Demonstrate a consistent disposition, able to be objective.

Responsibilities

Plans, organizes, and supervises nursing staff.
Manages, reports on, and provides resources for direct patient care in major inpatient units and outpatient units as directed.
