About The Position
The Charge Nurse oversees a department of frontline nurses caring for patients and supports staff in meeting their potential and the department’s operational goals and objectives. The role requires accountability, confidence, strong communication in individual and group settings, and comfort having difficult conversations about staff and unit performance. The Charge Nurse mentors staff on competency, documentation, equipment use, plans of care, National Patient Safety Goals, and in-service education; evaluates and coaches staff to improve care; and ensures standards of care are maintained. The role also involves understanding and coordinating the process for addressing ethical dilemmas and obtaining an Ethics Consult, as well as coordinating patient flow to support timely, effective care.
Requirements
- Associate degree in Nursing.
- Two years of RN experience within an applicable clinical specialty.
- Registered Nurse license in Arizona.
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification within six months.
- Accountability, confidence, strong communication skills, and comfort holding difficult conversations.

- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
- Charge Nurse experience.
Responsibilities
