Charge Nurse - Cardiac Step Down
About The Position
Presbyterian Healthcare Services is seeking a Charge RN for its 38-bed Cardiac Step Down Unit. The unit uses a collaborative, multidisciplinary approach to provide specialized, patient-focused care to people requiring telemetry monitoring for cardiovascular disorders, including arrhythmias and heart failure. It also cares for patients recovering from myocardial infarction, coronary intervention, pacemaker implantation, and electrophysiology procedures, as well as progressive-care patients. Care includes inpatient treatment and personalized discharge planning to address patients’ outpatient needs.
Requirements
- At least one year of nursing experience.
- Associate Degree in Nursing from an accredited academic nursing program; programs under conditional status may be approved by the system CNO.
- New Mexico or Compact State nursing license.
- BLS certification required at the time of hire.
- ACLS certification for progressive and critical care units.

- Specialty certifications in the area of practice are preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide professional, patient-focused care to patients in the Cardiac Step Down Unit.
- Support care for patients requiring telemetry monitoring for cardiovascular disorders, including arrhythmias and heart failure.
- Provide care for patients recovering from myocardial infarction, coronary intervention, pacemaker implantation, and electrophysiology procedures.
- Contribute to collaborative, interdisciplinary care and personalized discharge planning.
