About The Position
The Joseph "Eddie" Ballard Western Kentucky Veterans Center is a 156-bed long term care facility located in beautiful Hanson, Kentucky that is committed to serving Kentucky’s Veterans by fostering independence, preserving dignity and providing compassionate care. We are currently seeking a motivated Registered Nurse to work in our nursing department as a Charge Nurse. This position will serve in the role of Charge Nurse and supervise professional and ancillary employees in the administration of efficient nursing care.
Requirements
- Active, unrestricted and probated status as a Registered Nurse on the KBN licensure verification.
- Good communications and documentation skills
- Good work ethics
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Team leader
- Two years of experience as a Registered Nurse.
- Must be licensed in Kentucky as a registered nurse or possess a valid work permit issued by the Kentucky Board of Nursing.
- Must maintain any required licensure(s), certification(s), or other credentials for the length of employment in this job classification.
Nice To Haves
- A bachelor's degree in nursing will substitute for one year of the required experience.
Responsibilities
- Supervise professional and ancillary employees in the administration of efficient nursing care.
- Administer medications and treatments, as well as helping to meet the physical and psychosocial needs of our Veterans.

- Locality Premium - $14.36 per hour
- Shift Premium for Second and Third shift – 15%
- Weekend Premium – 25%
- Holiday Premium – 25%
- Eligible for overtime pay
