Charge Nurse Night Shift
About The Position
Kansas Christian Home is seeking a compassionate and dependable Charge Nurse to join their mission-driven team. The Charge Nurse is responsible for providing direct nursing care and supervising nursing assistants to ensure residents receive safe, compassionate, and high-quality care. Requirements
- Active, unrestricted Kansas Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license
- Strong leadership, communication, and critical-thinking skills
- Ability to effectively supervise and support nursing assistants
Nice To Haves
- Long-term care experience preferred, but not required
- Knowledge of state and federal long-term care regulations preferred
Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to residents according to individualized care plans
- Supervise, support, and mentor nursing assistants during assigned shifts
- Coordinate resident admissions, transfers, and discharges
- Review, update, and implement care plans and discharge plans
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation, charting, and incident reporting
- Monitor resident conditions and communicate changes to the appropriate healthcare providers
- Maintain compliance with facility policies, state regulations, and federal guidelines
- Participate in Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) activities
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to promote optimal resident outcomes
- Foster a respectful, compassionate, and resident-centered environment
