About The Position

The Charge Nurse (LVN or RN) provides and coordinates resident care while guiding Nurse Aides and supporting resident well-being. The role requires trustworthiness, consistent attendance, effective multitasking, and a professional, cooperative demeanor. The nurse administers medications and treatments, implements care plans, transcribes physician orders, and maintains resident documentation and nursing assessments in accordance with company policies, federal guidelines, and physician orders. The position also supports communication and continuity of care through shift reports, educates support staff on resident needs and nursing procedures, promotes workplace safety, and responds to staffing shortages by arranging replacement staff.

Requirements

• Be a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) in good standing.
• Demonstrate excellent technical, assessment, and documentation skills.
• Have strong communication skills and the ability to organize workflows effectively.
• Respond efficiently to emergencies and pay attention to detail.
• Be trustworthy, consistent in attendance, able to multitask, and professional and cooperative.

Responsibilities

• Provide guidance to Nurse Aides to ensure appropriate resident care.
• Safely administer resident medications as prescribed.
• Implement resident care plans in compliance with company policies, federal guidelines, and physician orders.
• Perform treatments as required to support resident health and comfort.
• Accurately and promptly transcribe physician orders.
• Maintain timely and accurate documentation in resident charts and complete required nursing assessments.
• Participate in shift reports to support communication and continuity of care.
• Implement nursing policies and procedures and educate staff on residents’ care needs.
• Promote a safe working environment by following infection-control and body-mechanics procedures.
• Address staffing shortages by arranging replacement staff as necessary.
