About The Position

This position is eligible for a 5% critical care differential. The Charge Nurse functions as a charge nurse responsible for assigning patients to and monitoring the work of nurses within the unit on assigned shift and to assist the Clinical Manager in the supervision of assigned employees on shift. The position also carries a patient load and applies the nursing process to deliver basic, safe, therapeutic care, for individuals or groups of patients.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Three (3) years of clinical nursing experience.
  • Valid License by the Nevada State Board of Nursing to Practice as a Registered Nurse.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification accepted by the American Heart Association (AHA).
  • Current UMC Employee

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of two (2) years of recent Trauma ICU RN experience in a similar facility.
  • Minimum one (1) year of charge nurse, relief charge nurse or supervisor experience in ICU.
  • Certification in Specialty Area may be required in some positions.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Trauma Nurse Core Certification, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, Neonatal Resuscitation Protocol may be required in some positions.
