About The Position

AMG Specialty Hospital – Muncie is seeking a full-time Charge Nurse (RN) for day shifts. This role involves supervising patient care activities, communicating with physicians and staff about patient conditions, and fostering a positive hospital environment. The Charge Nurse also keeps leadership informed of potential risks and provides direct patient care as needed. The hospital specializes in managing complex medical needs, including respiratory failure, complicated infections, and chronic wounds, requiring treatments like ventilation, IV antibiotics, and wound vacs. RNs provide direct and indirect patient care in an acute care setting, requiring strong communication skills and the ability to perform general nursing duties.

Requirements

Current Indiana Registered Nurse (RN) Licensure
Current BLS Certification
Current ACLS Certification
2 years of ICU experience required
Ability to communicate in English, both verbally and in writing

Responsibilities

Supervises the patient care activities performed by other RNs, LPNs, and CNAs.
Communicates with Physicians/CCO/staff, as appropriate about changes in patient's clinical condition including results of diagnostic studies and symptomatology.
Responds quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment.
Fosters a positive milieu in the hospital.
Keeps CCO and CEO apprised of situations that may place facility at risk.
Provides direct patient care as required based on staffing and patient acuity.
Responsible for direct and indirect patient care in the acute care setting.
Ability to communicate with physicians, CCO/co-workers, as appropriate about changes in patient's clinical condition including results of diagnostic studies and symptomatology.
Respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment.
Perform general nursing duties in all departments with adequate supervision.
