About The Position
Americare Senior Living is seeking a Charge Nurse (RN) to provide frontline clinical leadership and resident care in its skilled nursing community in Pratt, Kansas. The Charge Nurse oversees nursing services during assigned shifts, supervises caregiving teams, administers medications and treatments, completes resident assessments, and helps ensure care meets state, federal, and Americare standards. The role serves as a clinical resource and central communicator among residents, families, providers, and leadership, supporting a safe, respectful environment and quality outcomes. Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Strong clinical judgment and leadership skills.

- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. and assist with resident transfers as needed.

Responsibilities
- Oversee nursing services, administration, and clinical supervision during assigned shifts.
- Ensure compliance with nursing care standards, policies, and procedures.
- Supervise and guide nursing staff, including LPNs, CNAs, and CMAs.
- Complete and update resident assessments, care plans, and clinical documentation.
- Communicate changes in residents’ conditions to families, physicians, and nursing leadership.
- Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and facility protocols.
- Conduct routine rounds to ensure residents’ needs are being met.
- Address, document, and report incidents, accidents, and concerns, including suspected abuse or neglect.
- Ensure appropriate supplies, equipment, and medications are available and communicate needs to leadership.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to promote quality care and resident safety.
